Maps are more than practical guides

As a graduate in geography, I created and worked with maps for a while and I developed a heightened appreciation of them. I realised that maps are much more than practical guides to help us navigate our physical spaces. They capture and tell stories, they narrate history and capture our evolution through space and time. But they can also tell and reflect our personalities and feelings when expressed not as practical navigation guides but as art.
